Lost love

Obviously, cemeteries tell some sad stories. Out at Waverley some of these stories are told in white marble.

The top pic is a detail from a lifesize rendition of a young woman; someone's daughter/sister/friend who was loved very much and missed dearly. It's funny, but the aspect about this sculpture which strikes me are the hands; amazingly done.

On the bottom we have 'Roslyn', a young bride taken away in her mid twenties during the 1920s. Her husband hasn't left much to the imagination in choosing this pose to imortalise her memory. A heady decade indeed.
